Training is available for all Area Director and Researcher positions. Once affiliated, members may volunteer to sit on the Potential Match Panel or become part of the web team.

Area Directors - Requires a weekly time commitment to submit possible matches passed by the panel to law enforcement agencies and/or medical examiners.
Researchers - Using research skills to acquire information about cases that we may not have with emphasis on cold cases that may not be presented on well-known websites.
Website Team Member - Open only to established members and requires a weekly time commitment. Basic HTML knowledge is helpful. Team members work to add, update, close, and quality control cases.
Potential Match Panel Member - Open only to established members and requires a weekly time commitment. Panel members research the matches that have been submitted to the Doe Network and vote on submitting these matches to law enforcement agencies.
1. Submit the volunteer application.
2. If accepted, you will be provided a user name and password to access our internal, private board where our business is conducted.
3. Depending upon the position you applied for, you will be introduced to the training track to get you started!
- Our members do not investigate cases.
- Only the Administrative Team and Area Directors are permitted to contact investigating agencies on behalf of the Doe Network. This includes law enforcement, medical examiners, and others in related professional fields.
- Lack of activity over 30 days without prior communication with the Doe Network Administrative Team for a leave of absence will result in membership being terminated.
1. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and fill in the Volunteer Application.
2. Once opened, you will need to download the form and save it to your device in order to fill it out online. Follow the instructions on the form. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.
3. You will require the service of a notary. Many financial institutions and public libraries will provide this service free of charge. You will need to shade the notary stamp with a pencil so that it will be visible when scanned.
4. Email your completed, signed application to our Membership Coordinator at membership(at)doenetwork.org
5. You will be notified via email once the application is approved.
